Mark Tomas

Mark Edwin Tomas died July 8, 2023, at the age of 66.

Mark Edwin Tomas passed away on July 8th, 2023. He was born on March 23rd, 1957,to proud parents, Darroll and Jean Tomas of Enumclaw, WA.

He grew up on a small family farm in Enumclaw and graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1975. While in high school he was the lighting and sound manager for the swing choir which he enjoyed immensely. He also loved working on autos and was always fixing up his 66 Dodge Charger and helping to repair the family’s farm equipment. After graduating he immediately enrolled in the US Army and became a Chinook helicopter mechanic and got to see many parts of the world.

He was stationed the longest in Ft Wainwright, Fairbanks AK and remained in the Army and reserves until early 1981 leaving as a Sergeant E-5. He also lived in Anchorage AK for some time before packing his bags and moving from Anchorage to Miami where he work for several auto dealerships as the parts specialist.

He and his partner survived Hurricane Andrew in 1992. After rebuilding their home, they also went through a few smaller hurricanes before deciding to move back to the Pacific Northwest area landing near Gig Harbor WA. Eventually Mark moved back to his hometown of Enumclaw where he remained the rest of his life so he could be close to his family which he loved. One of his hobbies was to research and keep track of his family’s history and genealogy.

He is survived by his brother Scott Tomas and wife Darlene of Enumclaw, brother Corey Tomas and wife Kathy of Black Diamond and sister Tracey Tomas of Seattle along with many nieces and nephews.
