Paul Wyles died Jan. 3, 2017, at the age of 78.

He was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Toppenish, Wash., to Archie and Lucy Wyles, the youngest of four boys. After serving in the U.S. military, he taught flying lessons and became a pilot for four airlines, ending with North-west Airlines. Hobbies included collecting radios, golfing and playing poker; he enjoyed astronomy and made his own telescope.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elaine; sons Paul Jr., Michael, Richard and Gregory Wyles; stepchildren Eddie Hansen, Sharon Roberts, Sheila Thompson and Shannon Hansen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be planned for a later date.
