Robert Lawrence Mitchell, 52, a life long resident of Enumclaw, WA, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Nov. 29, 2019. Rob attended Enumclaw High School, later completing his GED through Green River College. Rob was a long-time employee of The Chalet and Cinema theatres, previously volunteered at the local Senior Center, and was a current employee at the Griffin & Wells Café.

Among his varied interests were aviation and astronomy and he was an avid Mariner and Seahawks fan. He and his brother John completed the Mt. Rainier Wonderland Trail in 1988 and enjoyed revisiting those memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lyla Mitchell. Surviving him are brother John (Karen) Mitchell, sisters Mary (Chuck) Washer, Ellen (Mark) Sherman, and Carolyn (Greg) Carter. In addition, he is survived by nephews Mitch Carter (Virginia Allred) and Paul Sherman, and nieces Clarissa Carter (Cody Davis, II), Beth (Joey) Manke, and Sarah Sherman. A great nephew, Cody Davis, III, was born in October. He leaves an aunt and cousins in Wisconsin. Rob married Tammy Martell in 2003. They later divorced.

Rob was kind, thoughtful, had a dry sense of humor, and was a beloved family member who will be greatly missed. Special thanks for the love and friendship extended to Rob by staff at the Lee Hotel and co-workers at the Griffin & Wells Café.

Interment has taken place. A private family celebration of Rob’s life will be held at a later date.
