William John Toman, 95, of Ravensdale, died Dec. 20, 2016.

William John Toman, 95, of Ravensdale, died Dec. 20, 2016.

He was born Jan. 27, 1921, in Cumberland to Stewart and Margaret Toman. He worked as a millwright for Weyerhaeuser from 1956 to 1986. He was active in the Eagles and helped as a volunteer firefighter for the Ravensdale Fire Department in the 1950s. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed clam digging at Copalis Beach and working in his garden, but he always put family first. In his younger years, he loved running, swimming, ice skating and playing baseball.

He is survived by sons William E. (Gladys) Toman and James Toman; daughter Linda (Ronald) Wickland; sister Norma Miller; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Louise Toman; daughter Margaret Ann Toman; and daughter-in-law Faye Toman.

A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home.
