William Raymond Hitch

William Raymond “Bill” Hitch, 79, died July 15, 2014, in Auburn, Wash.

Most recently a resident of Chehalis, Wash., he was born Dec. 4, 1934, in Cushing, Okla., to Otis and LaVerne Hitch. He married Diana Lee Bailey on Sept. 29, 1956, in Portland, Ore. They moved to the Seattle area that year and in 1957 moved to the Renton area where they lived for the next 30 years. In 1980 he opened a business, Puget Sound Electronics. He retired from Boeing as an acoustical engineer and with his wife moved to Chehalis.

Survivors include son Donald and wife Debbie of Enumclaw; daughters Terri Williams and husband Gary of Ravensdale, Karen Howard and husband Kurt of Tukwila, Cheryl Anderson and husband Bill of Bonney Lake and Lori Harvey and husband Curt of Tacoma; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Diana and sisters Margaret Burnside and Marylou Luoma.

A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home, 1810 Wells St. in Enumclaw. Following the service he will be buried at Evergreen Memorial Park in Enumclaw.
