The Bonney Lake High boys basketball squad had the rare pleasure of not having to travel last week, hosting Enumclaw Jan. 18 and Auburn Mountainview Friday.

Unfortunately for the Panthers, neither was a cooperative guest as the Hornets befuddled Bonney Lake 56-32 and Auburn Mountainview was even more rude, claiming a decisive 65-43 victory.

The two losses, which further impaired Bonney Lake’s chances at making the postseason scene, sent the Panthers’ South Puget Sound League 3A mark to 1-5 and 5-9 overall.

The one ray of sunshine was Ramsey Thoms. The sharpshooting Panther cager came to life against the Lions Friday evening, pumping in 22 points.
