Two victories last week, including a crucial Oct. 18 shutout over league-leading Auburn Mountainview, allowed Bonney Lake High to jump into a first-place tie in the South Puget Sound League 3A standings.

The successful week of play also included an easy, Thursday night trouncing of the winless Lakes Lancers.

The victories improved the Panthers league mark to 6-2, the same as Mountainview and one  game ahead of both Decatur and Enumclaw. The race for the regular season title wraps up this week. Bonney Lake traveled to Enumclaw for an important Tuesday showdown and will close out the campaign Thursday with a trip to Peninsula.

Thursday’s easy victory over Lakes featured three goals by Gabby Robinson and the shutout goalkeeping of Madi Lowry. Also scoring goals were Megan Riggs, Carly Mingo, Olivia Ottinger and Ashley Cade.

The big win over Auburn Mountainview came courtesy of second-half goals by Alicia Bowman and Madi Adams, along with the effort by Lowry in the net.
