Thursday, Bonney Lake fell to White River in five grueling games after losing 3-1 at Peninsula Oct. 13.

After winning the first game against White River 25-21, the Panthers dropped the next two 26-24 and 25-22. They forced a tie-breaker with a 25-15 win in the fourth game but White River took the series with a 15-6 win in the rally match.

Taylor Watkins led Bonney Lake with 14 kills and Danielle Norton had 12. Chelsea Merkel dished out a match-high 42 assists while Bailey Kinkel recorded 31 digs.

Against Peninsula, the Panthers fell 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Allison Hills paced the Panthers with 16 kills and Watkins added 12. Merkel had 42 assists.

Defensively, Karlyn Edwards tallied 20 digs and Hills had 13, while Watkins added six blocks.

The Panthers will try to break their two-game skid today, Wednesday, against a tough Auburn Mountainview squad that is ranked among the top teams in state in the most recent coaches’ poll. Bonney Lake finishes its regular season Monday at home against Sumner.
