The Bonney Lake High wrestling team’s league dual meet record dropped to 3-3 Jan. 13 as the Panthers suffered a 47-27 setback at the hands of Auburn Mountainview.

The trial versus the Lions was highlighted by 119-pound junior Robbie Slick and 140- and 145-pound seniors Nick Bendon and Josh Peart, all collecting first-round pins.

Additionally, Andrew Cunningham, the Panthers’ 112-pounder, recovered from nearly being put on his back in the first round to notch a narrow 10-9 decision over the Lions’ Matt Anderson. BLHS heavyweight Jared Dorsey had his arm raised without lifting a finger, garnering a forfeit win.

Bonney Lake hosts Enumclaw in dual meet action at 7 tonight, Wednesday. Also, after giving his varsity wrestlers a breather last weekend, Panther coach Anthony Clarke will take his group to Saturday’s Tahoma High Mat Classic.
