Bonney Lake High’s fastpitch team will move on to state play in Lacey this week after taking the No. 5 seed in districts.

The Panthers opened strong with a 12-2 win over Capital High, but were knocked out of the running for a top seed after a 9-3 loss to Camas.

The team went on to force Kennedy Catholic to its knees with a 4-1 score.

The Panthers finally subdued Yelm 8-6 to cement fifth seed status.

The girls take on Lake Washington at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
