BONNEY LAKE VOLLEYBALL: Panthers down Frankin Pierce in season opener

Panthers dominating from the service line as they recorded 15 aces.

On the road, the Bonney Lake girls started off the season with a 3-0 win over Franklin Pierce in South Puget Sound League 3A action Sept. 8 in Parkland. The Panthers won, 25-16, 25-12 and 25-19.

The Panthers were dominating from the service line as they recorded 15 aces, placing 95 of their 102 serves.

Ashley Reisen had seven aces, going 24-of-25 from the serving line.

Danille Norton and Allison Hills were among a host of players with perfect serving. Norton served 18 times with a pair of aces and Hills had 14 serves.

Chelsea Merkel collected two aces on her 11-of-14 attempts, along with her 11 assists.

Hills paced the team with five kills and Carly O’Farrell added four. Bonney Lake had 20 kills overall.

Defensively, Karlyn Edwards led the Panthers with 10 digs, while Reisen, Norton and Bailey Kinkel had five each. Natosha Lyonais had a pair of blocks and served up three aces in two games.
