EHS improves to 4-0 after one-sided Cardinals match

Don’t forget that Homecoming games are this week.

Correction: The original headline of this article reported EHS lost its game to the Cardinals; in fact, the Enumclaw Hornets came away with a resounding victory.

It’s Homecoming Week for both Enumclaw High and White River, schools fielding football programs trending in drastically different directions.

Enumclaw High will celebrate with a contest against the Orting Cardinals (1-3 in league, 1-5 overall). White River will host the Steilacoom Sentinels (3-1, 4-2). Both games kick off at 7 p.m. Friday.

Enumclaw is coming off a 51-12 thrashing of Franklin Pierce, a victory that pushed the state-ranked Hornets’ unblemished record to 4-0 in South Puget Sound League 2A play and 6-0 overall.

Meanwhile, White River’s latest outing resulted in a 50-6 loss to Fife High. The defeat, the fifth in a row, dropped the team’s record to 0-4 in league play, 1-5 overall.
