Enumclaw High’s Tyler McCarthy and Levi Goodin will advance to the spring West Central District state-qualifying tennis tournament.
McCarthy, a junior, and Goodin, a senior, placed fourth in the sub-district tournament. Only the top five doubles teams and singles players advanced.
The Hornet duo lost to the No. 2 seed in three sets in the third round, sending them to the losers’ side of the bracket. They won three loser-out matches in a row to become champions of the loser’s side, clinching the No. 4 spot to districts.
