With Isaias Enriquez aboard for his second win on the card, Kind of Naughty held off Stephanie Plum in a furious finish for a head victory in the $14,800 Ashbaugh Beal Purse for older fillies and mares.

Trained by Frank Lucarelli for owners Chris Randall and Nick Rossi, Kind of Naughty ran one mile in 1:36.47 and paid $7.40, $4.40 and $2.80.

Stephanie Plum, ridden by leonel Camacho-Flores, rallied strongly to just miss the victory and paid $4.60 and $3.

Maggie’s Special, the 6-to-5 betting favorite ridden by Eliska Kubinova, was five lengths back in third place and paid $2.10 for show. Ronda Rocks, Better to Be Lucky and English Lace completed the order of finish.

A 4-year-old Kentucky-bred by Songandaprayer, Kind of Naughty has an overall record of 3-3-2 in 14 starts with earnings of $59,029, including a 2-1-0 mark in four starts at the meeting.

Kind of Naughty set fractions of :23.30, :46.25 and 1:10.90, was 2 ½-lengths clear into the stretch, and gamely held off Stephanie Plum in the final strides.

Lucarelli, second in the trainers’ standings with 23 wins, went home with half the field. In addition to Kind of Naughty, he saddled fourth-place finisher Ronda Rocks and claimed fifth-place finisher Better to Be Lucky for $20,000 for owner REV Racing.
