Sumner High’s girls soccer contingent kept rolling along last week, improving their South Puget Sound League 2A mark to 9-1 as the conclusion of the regular season approaches.
The Spartan booters trimmed Eatonville 1-0 Oct. 12, when in the 55th minute of the low-scoring outing Megan Bodus took an assist from junior midfielder Leah Dedominces to score the contest’s solitary score. Sophomore netminder Alex Hoyt and her defensive cohorts then held on to collect the shutout over the Cruisers.
Sumner then beat Clover Park 8-0 Thursday, blasting a Warrior crew that has yet to claim a victory.
Megan Fenton initiated the scoring fireworks in the lopsided affair’s 16th minute, followed by goals from Krista Morford, Fenton again, Kelsey Hansen, then Dedominces twice more before intermission, making the score at the 40 minute breather 6-0.
Bodus rocketed an unassisted goal into the Warrior webbing and Kaylie Rozell scored at the 70-minute mark.
