The 40-point victory by the Enumclaw boys basketball on squad Tuesday, Dec. 8 brought a smile to this little Hornet’s face and the veterans had fun watching the cage battle that was staged in their honor as well. There was a litttle bit of everything as the hot-handed Hornets unleashed their arsenal on the unsuspecting Sparts, including a moment of silence for the fallen Lakewood officers, bleacher bums, bombs away and lights out shooting, amazed expressions as well as the newly acquired and ever popular stars and stripes that hung proudly over the Chuck Smith Gymnasium hardwood. An inexperienced Sumner contingent may have been whipped soundly but it wasn’t for lack of trying, as it never showed one ounce of give up right to the bitter end.
