Sumner’s baseball team defeated Orting 4-0 Monday in South Puget Sound League 2A conference play.

The Spartans racked up all four of their runs in the fifth inning.

Luc Powers-Hubbard went to bat three times and had 2-RBI. He ran to base himself once.

Sumner’s Christian Parsons was the winning pitcher over Orting’s Tim Williams. Parsons pitched seven innings and struck out Orting 17 times.

The Spartans played Orting again Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
