Spartans lose to Franklin Pierce | Sumner Boys Soccer

Sumner's boys soccer team lost to Franklin Pierce 4-1 Monday night in conference play.

Sumner’s boys soccer team lost to Franklin Pierce 4-1 Monday night in conference play.

Zak Rawson shot the first and only Spartan goal of the game at 26 minutes.

Franklin Pierce fired back with 39- and 65- minute goals by Sawyer Webster, a 57-minute goal by Ryan Sandoval, and a 68-minute goal by Dakota Scott.

The Spartans are now 3-2-0 in the South Puget Sound League 2A conference. They play Orting at home Wednesday.

Enumclaw High’s lacrosse team improved to 11-3 overall with a Thursday night victory over the visiting Sumner Spartans. The nonleague contest saw the Hornets jump on top early and coast to a 17-10 win. Success is nothing new to the the Enumclaw crew that captured a Class 2A/1A state title a season ago.
