Sumner High School’s girls swim team secured the co-league champion title following a Tuesday dual meet win against Steilacoom.

The Spartans share the South Puget Sound League 2A honor with Fife High.

Overall, the Sumner girls defeated the Sentinels 99-84.

Spartans placed first in all but two events: the 50-yard freestyle and the 1-meter dive.

Coach Dana Powers congratulated the team and the seniors swimming their last meet for the Spartans.

“Congrats to Ashley Huynh, McKenna Roberts, Kallan Gustafson, Marissa Filipowzski and Ashleigh Johnson for swimming your last duel [sic] meet for Sumner High School,” Powers wrote in an email to the team. “Onto Leagues, Districts and STATE!”
