Sumner and Bonney Lake gymnasts take third and fourth at SHS

The Spartans and Panthers competed against Enumclaw and Tahoma. Enumclaw took first place overall and in each individual category, earning an all-around score of 167.55.

The Sumner and Bonney Lake gymnastics teams took third and fourth place, respectively, at the Sumner High School four-team meet Wednesday night.

The Spartans earned 141.05 points all-around, taking 39.80 on the vault, 30.65 on the uneven bars, 39.00 on the beam and 31.60 on floor work. Sierra Tinsley came in seventh with an all-around score of 30.90, 8.35 on the vault, 6.25 on the uneven bars, 8.8 on the beam and 7.5 on floor work.

The Panthers earned 131.75 points all-around, 39.25 on vault, 28.05 on bars, 35.15 on beam and 29.30 on floor work. Samantha McCurley earned ninth with 29.30 points all-around, 8.0 on vault, 6.85 on bars, 7.55 on beam and 6.9 on floor work.

Sub-regionals will be held Saturday at Mt. Rainier High School. Two teams, seven individuals and three all-around performers will move on from the tournament.
