Sumner Fastpitch: Out of state contention for State following District loss | UPDATED

Saturday the Spartans beat Washington 15-5, then went on to defeat Kingston 7-2, and lose 13-0 to Sequim.

UPDATE: The article previously stated the Spartans lost to Kingston 7-2. The team actually defeated Kingston 7-2.

Sumner High’s fastpitch team was won two games and lost three at the West Central District tournament Friday and Saturday.

The Spartans began well with a 3-1 win over North Mason Friday at Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma.

The team lost 9-0 to Interlake in the second game Friday.

Saturday the Spartans beat Washington 15-5, then beat Kingston 7-2, and then lose 13-0 to Sequim, knocking them out of contention for state.

The Enumclaw High boys soccer team ended its regular season Friday night by hosting Clover Park. EHS used a pair of goals by Landon Breidenbach to hold a 2-1 lead into the game’s final stages.
