The Hornets’ Courtney Hall had no trouble at No. 1 singles, defeating Kara Kinolt 6-0, 6-0. In No. 2 singles, WR’s Laura Miculinich was a 6-1, 6-3 victor over Mallory Davis.

The Hornets also won two of the three doubles matches. In the No. 2 spot, Christina Ramous and Riley Burleigh won 6-2, 6-1, and at No. 3, Regan Speyer and Brianna Lyver were 6-2, 6-1 winners.

White River’s only setback came at No. 1 doubles, where Annie Shindle and Katie Durrant dropped a long, tough match, 7-6, 6-4.

The White River High girls downed Clover Park 4-1 the afternoon of March 21.

In No. 1 singles play, Hall easily defeated the Warriors’ Ga-Young Jin 6-0, 6-0.

White River swept all three doubles matches. In the No. 1 slot, Shindle and Durrant beat Graciela Meza and Alejandra Morales 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2, Ramous and Burleigh blanked Sandra Gonzales and Riann Durst 6-0, 6-0. And at No. 3 doubles, Speyer and Alexis Custer cruised past Marias Ramos and Olga Prado 6-0, 6-1.

The Hornets’ only setback came in No. 2 singles, where Taylor Wombacher fell 6-1, 6-4 to Mina An.

The Hornet girls were defeated 3-2 by the Sumner Spartans March 19.

No. 1 singles: Hall defeated Miriam Tu 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.

No. 2 singles: Sumner’s Autumn Jacobsen defeated Custer 6-0, 6-0.

No. 1 doubles: Sumner’s Kyla Anderson and Jasmine Babcoche defeated Wombacher and Durrant 1-6, 6-4, 7-5.

No. 2 doubles: Sumner’s Sarah Layton and Monica Mursch defeated Ramous and Burleigh 2-6, 7-6, 7-5.

No. 3 doubles: White River’s Shindle and Speyer defeated Samantha Walsh and Jessica Silone 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.
