The City of Bonney Lake is preparing a master plan for Allan Yorke Park that will serve as a guide for future improvements at the park. serve as a guide for future improvements at the park.
The City is seeking public comment on desired features for the park and could include items such as a mountain bike trail, an off-leash dog park, a BMX facility, expanded or additional ballfields, and additional parking.
In honor of Earth Day, Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is offering a free day at all state parks on Friday, April 22. Visitors will not need to display a Discover Pass for day-use visits to state parks.

As you may have surmised from my last three columns, I will not be voting for Donald Trump if he is the Republican nominee for president come November. Because of that, I decided to attend the Democratic caucus. I know the Democratic primary election will not be used for determining this state’s nominee; only the caucus counts. As I sit here writing this book versus movie of “Dark Places” by Gillian Flynn I need to be honest with you, I did not finish the book. I only read one third of it. And so this is where I will begin my review. The reason behind me not finishing the book is how it was written.

Logan Burton is this year’s Bonney Lake Chief for a Day, having been deputized last week by Police Chief Dana Powers. Logan, 7, was nominated to be Chief for a Day because he’s gone through two open heart surgeries due to a congenital heart defect known as pulmonary aortic (or valve) stenosis.
