Last weekend’s sun was perfect for heading to Maris Farms’ final Baby Animals and Blooms Days, which ran on weekends from April 27 through Mother’s Day. The farm always has something to offer kids and families, but the annual springtime event brings out baby animals to pet and fields of flowers to frolic through. Pictured is Emma and her older sister Eleanor sniffing the last of the tulips available for picking; Lyric speeding down the Mega Slide; and Adrienne Stuart and son Charlie sharing the feeding duties with one of the farm’s 8-week-old Nigerian Dwarf Goats, which was a new offer this year.

Maris Farm’s annual Buds and Baby Blooms starts on April 27, and continues on weekends until May 12. As the name suggests, there will be a field on tulips (which you can even cut and take home), baby animals to pet, and other staple farm events and activities. Two business ribbon cuttings were held last week, one on either side of the river. First was for AIM, Inc., a local accounting firm, on Jan. 23 (AIM has been in business for a while, but only recently joined the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce, hence the celebration); the second was for the Rainier Fresh Country Store in Buckley, which recently held a grand opening week.
