Children and adults who love trains may consider attending an event in Tacoma at the end of the month. Tacoma Public Utilities announced Tacoma Rail’s 22nd annual open house is to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 24.
Participants will enjoy free train rides, locomotive tours, model trains and railroad equipment on display. Clowns, face painting and free gifts will also be available.
Cash, check and canned food donations will be accepted for the FISH food bank of Pierce County during the open house.
