Retirement community to celebrate Sumner physician’s 90th birthday

Stafford Suites seeks baby photos from any of the 2,500 Sumnerites delivered by Dr. Patrick Duffy.

A Sumner retirement community will hold an open house Sept. 27 to celebrate the 90th birthday of retired physician Dr. Patrick Duffy.

Stafford Suites is seeking baby photos from anyone delivered by the doctor.

Duffy is believed to have delivered nearly 2,500 children during his 52 years of family practice in the city.

Stafford is inviting the doctor’s friends and former patients to attend the celebration, which will take place from 2 to 4 p.m.

“Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a gathering that includes many of the ‘babies’ that he delivered as possible?” asked Laura Fehrenbacher, the community relations director for Stafford.

Photos can be emailed to Fehrenbacher or mailed in her care to 15519 62nd St. Ct. E., Sumner, WA 98390.
