If you’re the type of weekend warrior who likes to cruise the highways on the back of your iron horse, motorcycle rights group ABATE of Washington is hosting a Saturday ride from Sumner to Spanaway to raise money for foster care services in Tacoma.

The ride will begin at Schafer’s Bar and Grill in Sumner and end at Spanaway Park. A pre-ride breakfast will begin at 9 a.m., followed by $15-a-bike registration at 10 a.m. and kickstands go up at 11 a.m.

“It’s just a great time,” Rich “Trucker” Jolie said about the ride. “Sometimes people will dress in costume for the ride; we have one guy who will be dressed as the Easter bunny.”

The east Pierce County and south King County chapters of ABATE of Washington are hosting the ride to raise money for the Tacoma Foster Care Resource Network. Jolie said initial plans to end the ride at the organization’s Pacific Avenue building were diverted due to construction.
