Bernice Mincer

Bernice (Tiller) Mincer, 89, died July 23, 2011, in Puyallup.

She was born July 5, 1922, in Alcester, S.D. She married Lyle W. Mincer in 1939 and they farmed in Spencer, Iowa, before moving to Carson, Iowa. They spent the war years in Los Angeles and Omaha where he worked for Lockheed and Douglas Bomber. They owned Mincer Equipment Co. from 1959 until retiring to Florida in 1987. She was active in church and social functions. They resided in Florida until failing health took them to Brush Prairie, Wash.

She is survived by daughters Lavonne Mincer Sargent and husband Joe of Brush Prairie, Lorraine Mincer Ziemke and husband Gene of Milton, Wash., Lacinda Mincer Ens and husband Ron of Vancourver Island, B.C., and Ladonna Mincer Kuntz and husband Chip of Buckley; sons Richard Mincer and wife Kathleen of Boise, Idaho, and Terry Mincer and wife Kimberly of Sumner; brother Howard Tiller; sisters Maxine Lewis and Lois Hardy; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers; and two sisters.

A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Weeks’ Funeral Home. Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa, next to her husband of 62 years.
