Lifelong Buckley resident Betty Parkko-Lawrence died Feb. 15, 2018.

She was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Tacoma to Toivo and Evelyn ( Stewart) Parkko and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Onnie and Hilma (Parkko) Lakie. She graduated in 1961 from White River School and worked as an IBM operator and at Mutual of Enumclaw.

She is survived by sons Kenneth Rosenberg (Joan) and Jon Rosenberg; daughter Donna Mitz (Mike); brothers Marvin Parkko (Jeanne) and Richard Parkko (Sharon); seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers Raymond and Charles and sister Mary.

There will be celebration of her life from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7. at the Buckley Fire Station, 611 Division St. The celebration is planned as a potluck, so guests are encouraged to bring food and stories.
