George F. Sprague, 88, died Dec. 2, 2016, in Bonney Lake.

George F. Sprague, 88, died Dec. 2, 2016, in Bonney Lake.

He was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Kewanee, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army and later worked as a mason. He was a resident of Covington for 47 years. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, golf and pool and having a great beer. He was a gentleman farmer and an accomplished gardener who loved family gatherings.

He is survived by sons Grant Hunter of Kent, Wash., and Kenneth Sprague (Connie) of Buckley; daughter Cheryl Lagerstedt (James) of Bonney Lake; brothers Albert Sprague Sr. (Deannie) of Covington and Keith Craig (Lorrie) of Bothell, Wash.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Frankie Sprague in 2008, daughter Vicki Marie England in 2015 and sister Joan Hynek.

A memorial service and reception will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at The Claw, 1324 Roosevelt Ave. E. in Enumclaw.
