Howard “Woody” Wood died March 20, 2016, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle after suffering a stroke at his home in Enumclaw.

He was originally from Chicago, Ill., but moved to Southern California as a small boy. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1955 and began a long career in the grocery business, working for several large food chains in the San Fernando Valley. He was a member of Local 777. He and his wife Ellen moved to Nevada and, after she died, he eventually moved closer to his youngest son Grady in Maple Valley.

He is survived by one sister, six children, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
