Enumclaw resident Mark Alan Spence, 56, died Dec. 16, 2011.

He was born July 5, 1955, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Richard and Dixie (Owens) Spence. He graduated from Gunn High School in Palo Alto, Calif., moved to the Plateau in the early 1980s and retired from Boeing as a systems administrator. He loved spending time with his children. Some of his other interests were reading, woodworking, boating and playing with his dog Rocky.

He is survived by son Patrick Spence; daughter Samantha O’Grady and her husband Shawn; sister Kathy Spence; and his parents.

He was preceded in death by his brother Patrick Spence in 1965.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Weeks’ Funeral Home in Buckley.
