Bonney Lake’s boys soccer team opened the preseason with some fancy footwork, defeating the Sumner Spartans 2-0 Tuesday in nonleague play.

Both Panther goals were shot in the first half, by Zach Jones at the six-minute mark and Tyler John at the 17-minute mark. Jonah Phillips assisted both.

The Panthers next game is scheduled for March 16 against Evergreen High School of Vancouver. It will be played at home at 2 p.m.
