Four More

The city of Enumclaw celebrated Earth Day by planting four trees on the grounds of Dwight Garrett Park. The April 24 planting was attended by members of city government and the community. With shovels (from left) are City Councilman Jeff Beckwith, Mayor John Wise and Councilman Sean Krebs; holding the tree is Phil Poppleton of the city's Urban Forestry Committee; and looking on are city Parks and Recreation Director John Keates, Tripp Good of the Urban Forestry Committee, Jana Lawlis, Sue Beckwith, Wyatt Lawlis of the Urban Forestry Committee and Louise Poppleton of the Enumclaw Beautification Committee. The addition of the four trees - three golden chain and one golden rain - was made possible by a donation from the Enumclaw Garden Club to the local Beautification Committee. The money was initially raised at the Garden Club's annual Breakfast for the Birds. Photo courtesy Jeff Beckwith
