The Pierce County Auditor sent out ballots Friday for the mail-only special election for the Sumner and White River school district levies.

The districts are hoping to pass their maintenance and operation levies which failed Feb. 7.

Sumner received 58 percent approval and White River 53 percent. For the levies to pass each must receive a 60 percent approval.

Ballots must be postmarked by April 25 to be counted.

The Dieringer School District is also running a bond for expansion, modernization and technology. The bond would be used to expand North Tapps Middle School and add classrooms to Dieringer Heights Elementary.

The Dieringer bond will be conducted as a regular election with polling places open April 25 and only absentee voters will receive ballots in the mail.
