The city of Buckley will host an open house and workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 933 Main St., regarding its plans to build a multi-use skate park this summer.

The event will provide information and solicit residents' comments on the preferred modular components and layout of the skateboard park and the proposed layout of the other park components. Visitors will view product information of modular equipment suppliers, and a layout of the multi-use skateboard park will be presented to city representatives and other workshop participants.

The proposed multi-use skateboard park will be in the open area between River Road and the Foothills Trail southwest of the post office. The city obtained a grant from the Washington State Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.

The skateboard park will include a flat, 13,200 square foot concrete slab with modular ramps and obstacles. Other park compononents include a playground area, parking lot, picnic areas, portable restrooms, lighting and landscaping.
