The Bonney Lake High girls opened the regular season with a 3-2 win over Franklin Pierce in South Puget Sound League 3A action March 18.

Franklin Pierce won both single matches, but the Panthers came back to dominate all three doubles matches.

Emily McCoy and Ashley Reisen defeated Cathy Wilmot and Grace Pak 6-4, 6-3; Alise McCoy and Katie Barrie blanked Leah Stippich and Maurisa Bautista 6-0, 6-0; and Jessica Roller and Beverly Kobe beat Amy Kim and Maria Santiago 6-2, 6-1.

In singles action, Bonney Lake’s Katy Chaplygin lost to Elise Utterbach, 6-1, 6-1 and Molly Miculinich lost to Sarah Webster, 6-0, 6-0.

Sumner hosts Yelm at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
