On behalf of the entire Jim Fugate Ford Mercury Mazda family, we would like to extend our thanks for being selected the 2009 Enumclaw Chamber Business of the Year. We are proud to be celebrating our 44th anniversary this year. A big thank you to all our loyal customers who have supported us through all the years. Rest assured we plan on being here selling new and pre-owned vehicles for many more years to come. The chamber auction and awards dinner was a great time and we would like to thank Cathy, Kim and the entire chamber board for another successful event. Finally, we all need to do our best to support each other in the Enumclaw business community and keep the business in town for all our sake.

The Ida Marge Guild of Buckley wishes to thank the Great Wolf Lodge for their donation of items for our raffle package; Frontier and Mt. Rainier banks for assisting with raffle ticket sales; and all of the generous people in the surrounding communities who helped make our “country store” fundraiser for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital a huge success.
We appreciate all of your continued support.

Editor’s note: the following was sent to Carbonado Superintendent Scott Hubbard and members of the Carbonado School Board, the directed to the newspaper for publication.
Thank you so much for not dropping Sixth Grade Camp from our school budget.
Camp Seymour was amazing. It was definitely the biggest highlight of this year.
We know that other schools have cut this very educational experience, but Carbonado even pays all of our way! You have all made this trip a memory we will never forget!
There are many important things we learned at camp. We appreciate the opportunity to share this learning experience. We learned how to go out of our comfort zone in co-op games, about all sorts of reptiles, what gear they use for climbing the wall and how to shoot a bow and arrow. One very important thing we learned was how important the Red Wiggler worms are to the plants. We learned how they help the plants grow by living in the compost which fertilizes the growing greenery. We also learned how to paddle the canoes. The interesting thing about canoeing is that there are many important safety signals, such as holding your paddle in the air if you need assistance. Also yell, “Help!” When the supervisors see or hear you, they will come to your rescue. It is nice to know how safe the naturalists make a simple and fun canoe ride.
The food was amazing at Camp Seymour. We learned how to recycle our trash and what to do with our food waste. We learned things at camp about food and food waste that we could never learn here at school. By having “zero food waste” we could eliminate food from going into the landfill. Most of us didn’t know that we couldn’t recycle bottle caps. The things we did at camp made learning so much fun. Carbonado sixth-graders would do almost anything to go back to camp! There is no way we could ever possibly thank you enough for the gift you gave us.
Thank you so much,
Carbonado sixth-grade class
