BLHS GIRLS SWIM: Despite fast times, Panthers drop meets

On the down side, the Bonney Lake High girls swim team dropped two tough meets, but those two losses were highlighted by a number of individual and relay victories.
The Panthers picked up one first-place finish, a couple of seconds and a number of thirds in a 135-44 Sept. 29 loss to Enumclaw.
Kelsi Potterf put in a 220.3-point diving performance for first place.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ali Ehle, Juli Herbst, Alexis Richardson and Elise Duncan finished second in 2 minutes, 08.24 seconds.
Herbst was also a second-place finisher in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:29.87.
Third-place finishes went to the 200 medley relay of Ehle, Herbst, Ashley Karbowski and Duncan, 2:33.73; Katie Koens, 200 freestyle, 2:46.44; Duncan, 50 freestyle, 29.17, and 100 freestyle, 1:07.08; Potterf, 100 backstroke, 1:22.65; and the 400 freestyle crew of Richardson, Janae Charbonneau, Potterf and Koens, 5:25.16.
Bonney Lake picked up four first-place finishes in a 105-73 nonleague loss to Timberline Oct. 1.
Koens kicked off the winning spree with a 200 freestyle victory, touching the wall at 2:41.60. Duncan posted a winning time of 2:24.31 in the 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay of Taylor Eaton, Herbst, Potterf and Duncan clocked a 2:09.36 for its victory.
Potterf also captured the diving title with 224.31 points.
The Panthers were scheduled to travel to Clover Park Tuesday; results can be found at cmg-northwest2.go-vip.net/courierherald. Tuesday, they travel to Auburn Mountainview.
