Good customer service is the lifeblood of any organization and it holds true for the city of Bonney Lake.
Community Services Specialist Jennie Sage has been the person behind the 3-1-1 Customer Service Request line since May 2006.
Sage has been employed by the city for 10 years and spent her first six years working in the Finance Department and one year working as a certified Permit Technician, and now three years in her current position.
Sage, who was raised in Republic, Wash., moved to Bonney Lake eight years ago. She attended College in Edmonds, Wash, taking courses in management, accounting and communication.
The city launched a special Customer Service Request line so residents can state their complaints, report issues, lack of customer service within the city and other issues.
“I love people and I am passionate about the city,” Sage said.
Sage said the 3-1-1 call can be made from a regular land line with the Bonney Lake prefixes.
“The calls can be related to general city services such as water or sewer leaks,” she said.
She said residents can also report city code violations, garbage on the street, potholes, a street sign down, etc.
Sage said once she receives a call, she will route it to the appropriate department for action if unable to answer it herself.
“All calls are promptly taken care of to ensure customer requests aren’t misplaced or misdirected,” she added.
Sage said she feels being available and responding in a timely manner is important, along with providing reliable information about city services.
“I’m a city servant and I am here for our residents,” she said.
Residents can call 253-447-4311 or dial the Customer Service Request Line at 3-1-1. Messages can be left after office hours.
