BLHS GIRLS GOLF: Bonney Lake postseason will tee off

Rivals Bonney Lake and Sumner took to the fairways at Linden Golf Course for the final regular season match in South Puget Sound League 3A golf competition.
Bonney Lake won the boys match 60-55 while the Sumner girls won 58-52.
Brian Duckett was the medalist with a career-best 39, including five straight pars. Nick Bendon was second with a 42, followed by Josh Journey at 43 and Ryan Kern at 45. Charlie Erhardt finished with a solid 45.
“The guys felt great after playing, knowing that they finally had a round that they were capable of playing,” coach JD Rushton said.
Tracy Hare led the Panther girls with a 51, followed by Courtney Bartlett at 52 and Ali Ronnfeldt finished with a 53.
The Bonney Lake girls got a 73-50 win Oct. 6 over Auburn Mountainview at High Cedars Golf Course in Orting.
Bartlett led the Panthers with a 44, good for 19 points. Hare and Anna Babbitt scored 14 points each with a 49.
Ronnfeldt and Ashley Coubra shot 54 each for 14 points apiece, while Megan Charron finished with a 58 and eight points.
In boys play, the Panthers fell to the Lions 81-50.
Kyle Campbell led Bonney Lake with a 42.
Bonney Lake will compete in Thursday’s SPSL 3A medalist tournament and in the state qualifying tournament Tuesday.
