GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Bonney Lake Panthers shut down Lancers

The Bonney Lake Panthers took down a pair of Lakewood schools in South Puget Sound League 3A volleyball action.
Bonney Lake started with a 3-0 win over Clover Park Oct. 6 and finished with a 3-0 win over Lakes Thursday.
Taylor Watkins hammered a game-high 15 kills to lead Bonney Lake to a 3-0 SPSL 3A win over Clover Park.
The Panthers won the first game easily 25-10, but Clover Park fought back only to fall 25-22 in the second game.
Bonney Lake won the final game 25-14 to improve to 9-1 overall.
Ashley Reisen dished out a game-high 25 assists, along with six digs and a pair of blocks. Bailey Kinkel collected 15 digs and served a pair of aces. Watkins had seven digs.
On Thursday, the Panthers downed the Lancers, 25-23, 25-16, 25-17.
Allison Hills paced the winners with 16 kills and collected 15 digs, while Reisen added seven kills with three aces.
Chelsea Merkel dished out 35 assists, got 10 digs and served two aces. Karlyn Edwards had four aces and 18 digs, while Kinkel added 10 digs.
The Panthers host White River Thursday and play a nonleague game against Class 2A Fife on Monday.
