VIOLATION OF COURT ORDER
• On Oct. 3, police responded to a report on a violation of an anti-harassment order on 197th Street East. The reporting party said his neighbor, a 52-year-old man, yelled profanity to him when he was standing in front of his residence. An anti-harassment order is in place against the man, stating he is forbidden to communicate with the petitioner. The suspect stated his words were not directed at the reporting party, but rather another neighbor with whom he was joking with. The neighbor corroborated the story. Police observed the suspect has a loud voice in the course of typical conversation and because it’s possible he was not directing the words at the petitioner, there was not enough cause for an arrest.
THEFT
• On Oct. 2, a group of customers was seen by a loss prevention agent at Walmart selecting items and leaving the store without paying for them. Suspects ranged in age from 12 to 35 and the 12-year-old pushed the cart containing the items out of the store, saying she didn’t want to say no the older parties involved. A 17-year-old male suspect was arrested for obstructing a public servant by interfering with the arrest and a 16-year-old suspect was booked for second-degree theft. Another suspect, 21, was booked on a warrant from Bonney Lake. Other suspects were released at the scene, but the case is forwarded for review of potential theft charges.
THEFT
• On Oct. 6, police responded to a report of theft at Albertsons. The manager observed a man consume a small bottle of wine in the store. The man admitted to stealing the wine. The manager collected a total of 24 empty bottles over a two-week period. The 37-year-old man was captured on camera drinking the wine.
FOUND PROPERTY
• On Oct. 4 police were dispatched to a found-property incident. A backpack full of school books and a lunch box were recovered. A resident noticed the items in her front yard. The owner was identified using a student identification and some paperwork in the bag.
