SHS VOLLEYBALL: Spartans improve to 2-2

The Sumner High volleyball contingent batted .1000, defeating Clover Park 25-6, 25-14 and 25-8 and taking Franklin Pierce 25-18, 25-9 and 25-13.

The victories raised Sumner’s record to 2-2 in South Puget Sound League 3A play.

In the two drubbings, senior setter Kailey Smith had a combined 55 assists, Sidney Erickson had 21 kills and Jessica Vandergeissen had a half dozen blocks.

The Spartans took on Peninsula High Monday; results came too late to report here but will be posted at cmg-northwest2.go-vip.net/courierherald. Tonight, Wednesday, Sumner hosts White River. Sumner plays its final game of the regular season when it travels to Bonney Lake Monday.
