The groundbreaking ceremony of the new city of Buckley fire station will occur Sunday, Feb. 27. Fire department staff, city officials and representatives of Five Rivers Construction will be on hand to mark the beginning of construction.
The ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. and attendance is open to the community.
From there, Five Rivers will move its portable office onto the property in the first week of March, and construction will commence from there.
“We can just hardly wait,” Fire Captain Al Long said. “We’re ready to move into the station right now.”
The ceremony will take place on site at 611 South Division Street.
