Enumclaw High School Rabeccah Hansen won first honorable mention for her holloware titled “Pie Server” at the ninth annual Passing The Torch competition at the Washington State Convention Center juried by international known jewelry artist Ron Ho.
Hansen has joined a group of three EHS students who have won awards at this state competition in the past five years. Randy Cook also received a medal for being a winning instructor.
The event kicked off in 2001 when a group of Washington art teachers began meeting with SMG’s Educational Outreach Committee to collaborate on a statewide jewelry exhibition. The goal was to display student work in a professional setting so students would see the value of their work.
