Two weeks into soccer season, it’s already safe to say that the smart money is on the Spartans. Not only is the team 3-0 in South Puget Sound League 2A and undefeated in all its matches—league and nonleague alike—thus far, it is unscored upon.

No other team has racked up a single point against the Spartans thus far.

The Spartans most recently faced the Washington High School Patriots Friday night, whom they stamped out 4-0. Senior Shaun LaVigne scored all four goals. A fifth by Bryce Morrison was rubbed out by the Patriot goalie.

It’s a score repeated from the Spartans’ March 23 home match against the Eatonville Cruisers, and on March 20, the team had a 6-0 win against White River.

Sumner took a nonleague 8-0 against Olympic High March 24.

The Spartans play crosstown rival Bonney Lake Friday in nonleague play. The team’s next SPSL match is the following Monday, April 9.
