Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints collects 6,000 pounds of food

Volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints collected more than 6,000 pounds of food Sept. 15 to benefit food banks in the South Sound area. The effort was part of the church’s Day of Service NW.

Rachel Stanton, Savannah Gunn and Dan Kartchner (pictured in slideshow, above) were three of the Bonney Lake volunteers who solicited donations outside of Albertson’s grocer.

The collaborative food drive included the cities of Bonney Lake, Sumner, Edgewood-Milton and Puyallup.
