Spartans celebrate homecoming week

Sumner High School will host its annual Homecoming Parade on Main Street prior to the football game on Oct. 18. Pre-kickoff festivities include a hosted BBQ in the main courtyard and school carnival in the SHS Gym from 5 to 6 p.m. Carnival tickets may be purchased by calling the main office at Sumner High School.
The halftime show will feature the royalty court announcement, the award-winning high school Marching Band and Color Guard with performances by the Dance/Drill Team and Cheer Squad. A fireworks display just before the start of the second half will complete the show.
This year’s homecoming theme is “Under the Stars in Athens.” Homecoming activities include:
Oct. 13 Class Hallway Decorating Competition
Oct. 14 Homecoming Assembly; Girls Throw Ton Tournament, 7 p.m. at Sunset Chev Stadium
Oct. 15 “Pack the PAC” Choir concert, 7 p.m. at Performing Arts Center
Oct. 16 Boy’s Buff Puff Volleyball Tournament, 5:30 p.m. in the SHS Gym
Oct. 17 “Girls night out” with Girls Volleyball in the Gym at 7:15 p.m. and Girls Soccer in the stadium at 7 p.m.
Oct. 18 Homecoming Football Game, Sumner Spartans vs. Washington High School at SUNSET CHEV STADIUM, 7:00 p.m. Kick-off
