The Chinook Little League All-Stars suffered their first setback in the state tournament, losing a Wednesday afternoon quarterfinal contest.

After notching victories over Redmond West and Greater Richland, the Plateau-based Chinook bunch fell 7-6 to Elma.

State tourney games are being staged every day this week at the Heritage Park Recreation Center on South Hill. The 10-team tournament will conclude Saturday with a championship contest.

Now in the lower bracket, Chinook will play at 6 tonight (Thursday) against Redmond West or Pacific. The loser will be bounced from the double-elimination tourney while the winner advances and plays Friday.
